The Important Stuff

Everything you'll need to know before you get to the Christmas Parade.

THE ROUTE

 The parade route is approximately 1.5 miles. It leaves West Jefferson Middle School at 1:45pm and ends at Davis & Sutton around 3:15pm.  The route winds through the scenic neighborhood roads of Aspen Park and parks at the Christmas in Conifer Street Faire for the Parade Awards.

THE LINEUP

Parade lineup is located at the West Jefferson Middle School, 9449 Barnes Avenue Conifer 80433. Please enter parade lineup via north on Hurty Ave. / east on Vosler Street to Barnes Avenue. Please help us mitigate long shuttle times by following this one-way entry.

PARTICIPANT PARKING

Participant parking is available on Stansberry & Wilkerson Streets around the school and Cornelius and Holbrook Streets between S. Wright drive and Russell Ave. Additional parking is provided at Bank of the West located at the corner of Sutton & Davis Rd. Be sure you do not block driveways and are courteous. There will be a shuttle available between the middle school and the Christmas Village before and after the parade. The shuttle will run from 11:30a-4:30p.

THE WEATHER

The weather may be cold. The Parade is a rain, snow or sunshine event. However, in the event of unsafe conditions for our participants, cancellation notifications will be sent via email the morning of the parade.   You do not need to arrive at lineup until noon.  Please dress accordingly and bring hats, gloves and scarfs. Winter conditions vary.  If there is snow on Parade Day, all parade vehicles MUST have either 4WD or chains. 

DROP OFF

Drop-Off is available at the entrance to West Jefferson Middle School. Please follow the same one-way traffic as parade lineup. Participants will be required to walk to their designated lineup location from the front of the school. Parents are welcome to park along Stansberry and walk with their child to their lineup location.

AWARDS

The Awards Celebration will start at 3:30pm at the Christmas Village Stage. We will announce the 1st and 2nd place winners in each category of the following categories: Best Small Animal, Best Large Animal, Best of Youth, Best Music, and Best Freestyle. Of all of our 1st place winners, one will be chosen 'Best of Parade'.  Starting in 2022, Best of Parade will win $500 for their entry and second place will win $200. 

Important Parade Rules

No Throwing: Candy and giveaways must not be thrown to spectators from your float. You must use walkers on either side of the road to distribute (not throw) the candy / giveaways to spectators. Help us to make this a safe, fun, community event. 


Stay Together: While on the route, please stay together and keep a safe distance from the entries in front and behind you. There is no rush and the crowd wants to see you! Children must be accompanied by at least one adult.


Your Pets: All dogs must be on leash before, during, and after the parade. You must clean up after your animals. That includes horses, goats, llamas, alpacas and other barnyard animals.


  • How is my parade entry judged?

    Judging will be based on a point system for Design/Decoration/Costumes related to theme, Originality & Creativity, and Overall Presentation. Extra points will be given if you decorate a towing vehicle as well. Your award category is based on what was filled out on your parade entry application. If you did not select a category, the parade judges will select one for you. Any animal with hooves is considered to be a “large animal.” 

  • Where is First Aid located?

    First Aid is located at the check-in canopy and at the Christmas Village Stage in Santa Land. If you have an emergency please locate the nearest parade volunteer and they will be able to assist you.

  • When can I check in for the parade?

    For your convenience, parade lineup parking is open prior to check-in at 11:00 am.  Once check-in opens at 12:00pm, only vehicles in the parade may enter the lineup. Please include all materials needed for your entry on the vehicle entering the lineup. Please take all materials with you and clean up around your space. 

  • When is check in for the parade?

    Check-In is located at the entrance to West Jefferson Middle School and opens at 12:00p.  If you arrive prior to check-in opening, please send a representative to collect your entry information and parade number.  

  • What is the latest I can check in?

  • Will there be a shuttle?

    There will be a shuttle to the Christmas Village stage from West Jefferson Middle School before and after the parade. Shuttle hours are 10:30am - 4:30pm.
